Companies that use social innovation perform better
Social innovation and purpose are essential in good business. We hear it all over. ‘So and so is using social innovation’ or ‘we need innovation to fix this and that’.
But why do these businesses tend to have a more steady performance? Well, we don’t have all the answers, but we can speculate. Our speculation (supported by the 2015 Deloitte Millennial survey) is that doing good feels good. When your job is making a positive difference in the world, it encourages more work to be done and for that employee to stay with the company.
Social innovation is one of the fastest growing fields today. Social innovation companies use a hybrid business model that makes money off of solving world problems. Another great model to consider is incorporating social innovation into an existing business model.
Don’t just take my word for it; these models are supported by the World Economic Forum, which says companies that incorporate social innovation into their business strategy are better set up for long term competition.
The inclusion of social innovation is the future of business. We can make the world a better place one innovation at a time.
